Next on Fred's calendar is the Nola Funk Fest, Oct. 16-19, where he'll be Artist-at-Large for the whole weekend. Click here for tickets and more information.

After that is a short tour Oct. 27-Nov. 2 of the New JBs with Martha High's Funky Divas, which will give fans in Atlanta, Baltimore and Philadelphia a chance to enjoy the experience that made its debut earlier this year on the West Coast.

After that will be dates in Germany -- Mannheim, Munich and Dresden -- with his Generations Trio, featuring Leonardo Corradi and Tony Match.

The last tour of the year is with just the New JBs in the UK and Europe. Tickets are on sale now for Pau, France, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Utrecht and Frankfurt.

Looking back, Fred finished up his summer as a special guest of the Mobile Big Band at the Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama, where he was inducted into the Festival's hall of fame and given a key to the city.

Fred's busy July also featured participation in the International Trombone Festival in London, Canada, dates with the BT-ALC Big Band in New England, and a hit with his New JBs at The Freight in Berkeley, California.
