Home safe after a killer two weeks in Europe!

With thanks to God, Fred's amazing New JBs, and all the adoring fans who came out, the funkiest trombonist in the universe made it safely back home to Alabama after an intense two-week tour in Europe. With stops in the Czech Republic, the UK, the Netherlands and Germany, the tour was the highly-favored first of several happening over the next several months. Special thanks to Magda Magdalena Jakubik, who caught this performance shot with Fred and the newest New JB Jay Rodriguez.

Many other photographers captured images from the tour, including Rita Kuenen, who was at the last show at Effenaar in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and caught this shot of Fred. Click here for many others.

The night before, New JBs trumpeter Gary Winters caught the crowd, which was very much like the 11 others that welcomed the band during the tour and were richly rewarded with an uncommonly funky good time.

In Herford, Germany, Harold Keller shot this, and these.

Backstage at the Jazz Rally in Dusseldorf, Germany, Fred posed (l-r) with the city's mayor, the U.S. Consul General, a diplomat from the Ukraine who especially appreciated the band's tune "Peace Power," and one of the festival's organizers.

Up next, another two-weeks starting June 23 at the Jazz Baltica Festival. Check the calendar for more.
