Fred is history alive, and still part of making Black history

It's Black History Month and Fred is proud to be featured on the new anthem celebrating the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.,  "King of Love: MLK."

The song, released this month, is a creation of Dr. Scot Brown, a scholar of African American Studies at UCLA, the author of numerous books and other publications, and an indie musical artist, songwriter and producer. In addition to Fred, it features vocalists Kijana Crues, Stephon Ferguson and Alex Parris. Click here to see the video on YouTube. Click here to see a mini-documentary about the song on facebook.

Fred and Scot became friends when they participated together last fall in a session at the Association for the Study of African American Life and History's 107th annual meeting in Montgomery, Alabama.

Stay tuned for more Fred news as he gears up for a busy spring, summer and fall.
