Where is Fred? Home safe after fun times in Ireland, the UK and Paris

It's a merry Christmas season for Fred as he relaxes at home in Alabama, recovering from a busy 2023 and getting ready for an exciting 2024. The first gig of the year is a big musical party being thrown by his friend Donald Harrison in New York City, with other special guests who Fred is proud to be among. Click here for tickets.

He finished out 2023 by touring Ireland and the UK with his New JBs. He then took the Eurostar to Paris and reunited with his Generations Trio for a night at Jazz Club Etoile, in the Le Meridien Etoile hotel.

While in the UK he appeared on his old friend Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio show, and led a horns workshop with New JBs trumpeter Gary Winters and saxophonist Jay Rodriguez at the Royal College of Music. They were invited by Amos Miller, head of brass, who shot the lovely portrait below.

The Paris show followed an interview and was broadcast live on French national station TSFJAZZ, with host Jean-Charles Doukhan (below). Click here to check it out.

His last job of the year was leading yet another funk workshop organized by his Parisian friend Djamila Alioua. Among the participants this year were three children, including the young trombonists below.

Big thanks to all the fans/friend who made it a great year, and who have supported him throughout is career. Be safe and well and stay tuned for the official U.S. release of the album "From The Blues and Back!"
