Celebrating at his favorite festival: Jazz à Vienne
It was an especially happy birthday this year for Funky Fred, whose
69th on July 4 coincided with the end of an intense six-days in a row
culminating in an excellent performance with his New JBs at Jazz à Viennne. He shared the evening there with the Earth Wind and Fire Experience featuring Al McKay and his compadres George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic.

The outdoor Musicfest Waidhofen was the occasion for visiting this town, where Fred and fam enjoyed outstanding hospitality at Stadthotel Waidhofen. Many thanks to hotel manager Sonja Karner, and Gaby and all the crew.

Here Fred united with his New JBs, and had an exciting 30-years-later reunion with his great friend, the great Hugh Masakela. It was Fred's second time at this charming, three-year-old festival, having performed there in 2009 with Abraham Incorporated.
