Celebrating "Dr." Benny Golson!
Fred is celebrating the great jazz composer and saxophonist Benny Golson, now Dr. Benny Golson thanks to an honorary doctorate he received last week from his alma mater, Howard University. Fred is a longtime fan and admirer of Dr. Golson and, as the 2007 recipient of the Howard University Jazz Ensemble's Benny Golson Jazz Master Award, the two are forever connected through Howard.
